New Year, Who Dis?

Hey guys!  Miss me?

It’s been almost an entire month since I’ve posted anything–crazy, right?  Clearly that means I’ve been off doing super exciting and important things!

I’ve spent two weeks of my hiatus staring at a blank WordPress document saying “WHAT SHOULD I WRITE OMFG I MISS MY BLOG” and I’m a bit late to the New Year’s train, but who’s here to stop me?  I’m an adult–I’ll do what I want.

New Year’s Resolutions.  Everyone comes up with one on December 31st when they’re black-out drunk, and by January 3rd, they’re back to binge-drinking, binge-eating, and doing whatever else they said they were leaving behind in the previous year.


Usually, I’m one to say “this year, I’m going to lose weight!”  I last about 4 days eating right or not drinking soda or whatever my tactic is for the new year before giving in and chugging a 2-liter of Mountain Dew and filling my stomach with Doritos.

I’m a mess.

This year, I’ve decided to set things that will make me happy as my resolutions!

Say Yes to More Adventures:


I’m so obsessed with traveling and seeing the world, but I don’t usually do much out of my comfort zone.  I’m a home-bird, I like my creature comforts.  When friends ask me to hang out, I usually just turn down the invitation, or I go with them and wish I was home.  I’ve decided that this year I’m going to say yes to more and not hide away in my shame-cave of a bedroom.


Stress About Less:


I’m a person who stresses out about everything.

I’m stuck in traffic and running two minutes behind?


My car is running low on gas?


I miss my dog because I’ve been gone for two nights and my mom tells me she cries when I leave without her?


My goal for 2018 is basically just to relax.  I want to let the world do it’s thing around me and not get involved where I don’t need to be.  That means I’m going to mind my own business and not try to fix everyone’s lives for them.  I need to focus on me for now.


Focus On What Makes You Happy:


This blog makes me happy.  Writing stories makes me happy.  Drinking wine, watching Youtube, and taking warm showers all make me happy.

I started a document back in November with my friend called “The Happiest Adventures of L & Z” (she’s the Link to my Zelda–that’s a story for another time).  In this document, we just write down the things that have made us happy that day.  We’ve kind of strayed from it lately, but I think it’s a really good idea to keep a list like that.  I’ve found that if you focus on the positive, it’s really hard to stay in a shitty mood.


So, what does the future of Rachel.WTF look like? 


I’m going to start posting regularly again.  I want to think of some new and cool ideas to incorporate the photography I do, so if you have any ideas for me, let me know in the comments!
